Welcome to ClueGrid. By accessing or using the website at cluegrid.org (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What ClueGrid Is

ClueGrid is a free online tool for creating word search and crossword puzzles. You can generate puzzles from your own word lists, choose from pre-built themes, share puzzles by link, and print them with answer keys. No account is required.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ClueGrid to:

• Submit content that is illegal, hateful, obscene, or that harasses or harms another person.
• Submit copyrighted material, trademarks, or personal data that you do not have the right to use.
• Attempt to disrupt the Service, scrape it at unreasonable rates, or interfere with other users.
• Reverse-engineer, resell, or rebrand the Service as your own.

We may remove content or block access without notice if we believe these rules have been broken.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the words, clues, and themes you submit. By submitting content, you grant ClueGrid a non-exclusive, royalty- free license to store, display, and share that content as part of running the Service (for example, generating a printable page, rendering a shareable puzzle link, or showing your puzzle in a recent-puzzles list).

You are responsible for what you submit. Do not submit content that infringes copyright. If we receive a valid complaint, we may remove the content.

Free Service, As-Is

ClueGrid is provided free of charge, on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, ClueGrid and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Classroom and Personal Use

Teachers, parents, and individuals are welcome to print and share ClueGrid puzzles for classroom or personal use. You may not repackage the Service or its generated puzzles as a paid product without permission.

Third-Party Services

ClueGrid may display third-party advertisements and use third-party analytics or hosting services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
